It is with regret that we have to inform our members and followers of the passing of Dave McDonald who was the Past President of Aberdeen Grammar F.P.R.F.C during the period 1994 to 1997. He died suddenly on Saturday 15 April 2023.
Dave lost his wife Katie in recent years and due to his prolonged health related mobility problems lived at the care home on Balnagask Road, Aberdeen but was a regular attender at 86 Queens Road and latterly the Great Western Hotel.
Having been in the licensed trade on Shetland and at Fiddlers in Aberdeen he was a larger than life character who in latter years was a leading light in the worldwide Golden Oldies rugby circuit, where he travelled extensively in his capacity as an executive council member.
Dave remained a loyal supporter of the rugby section and latterly the rugby club with words of encouragement as well as regular financial donations.
Details of the funeral arrangements will be made public in due course.
