Caledonia Reds are coming to Rubislaw!

Published - 23 October 2026

This season the Caledonia Reds only home fixture will be held against South of Scotland Rugby at Rubislaw on the 14th of November with a 2:00pm kick-off.

The fixture will see the Caledonia Reds return to Aberdeen and the wider Grampian region for the first time in nearly 30 years since a 20-14 win over Glasgow in 1998.

While the game is being held at Rubislaw, we are very keen for this to feel like a fixture that the whole rugby community across the region can get behind and show their support for the Caley Reds.

The district team provides an incredibly important pathway for players who are striving to play at the highest level of the amateur game, while also giving them the opportunity to put themselves in contention for selection for the Scotland Club XV.

The value of the Inter-District Championship was highlighted once again earlier this year, when Aberdeen Grammar Rugby's favourite Callum Reidy (son of former AGR coach Damian Reidy) was given the opportunity to become a full-time professional player with Glasgow Warriors. It’s a great example of the opportunities the district game can provide and why continuing to support and strengthen the championship is so important.

Tickets are free for all U18 club members and school pupils. All money raised through ticket sales and gate receipts is invested directly back into the running and development of the Caledonia Reds programme, helping us to continue supporting the district programme and the opportunities it provides for players across the region.
