Onwards to 2026....

Published - 11 December 2025

To all members and supporters of Aberdeen Grammar Rugby,

As we look forward to the festive period with our friends, families and loved ones we wanted to share our heartfelt thanks to all players, volunteers, coaches, support teams and supporters who have made 2025 a year to remember. Your continued hard work and dedication allow us to keep building this great club’s future.

So far this season, we have seen success across the club, from Minis to Seniors. Our youth teams continue to develop, with over 100 players regularly competing in the local leagues. Notably, our U16s won their league in the final moments away in Orkney last weekend! Very importantly, for the first time in 10+ years, we have a full U18 squad and have been able to transition two of our own home-grown players into senior rugby, with both making their 1st XV debuts in the first part of this season. One of these players, Sam Slane, joined the club aged 7 and has represented the club through minis, youth and now seniors. So, a lot to be incredibly proud about with our young players.

Success is not limited to the junior section. Our 1st XV currently sits just one point off the summit of National 3 and the 2nd XV (Bears) are sitting proudly at the top of Caledonia 3. The rugby being played by our senior teams this season is entertaining and winning, which is fantastic for all of us.

Off the field, our committee is working hard to run the club as well as we can in an increasingly difficult financial environment; it’s not an easy job and we’re very grateful to those that give their time to help manage the club. Our social committee has organised a series of events already that take us to the end of the season – please participate as much as you can.

Let’s carry this momentum forward into the new year as we continue to grow, achieve and strengthen our club together. Here’s to another year of progress and shared success.

Thank you all and onwards to 2026!

John (President) & Iain (Chairman)
