It was a tough lesson on Saturday when the 1st XV were well beaten by a clinical Allan Glen's who showed why they are currently top of National League Div 3.
At half time, the score was already 12-44 to the visitors, having scored 8 tries in the process however converting only 2 of them.
AGR's 2 first half tries came from Scott Byars and Elliot Mason, with Dan McElderry kicking 1 conversion.
AGR claimed their 3rd try of the afternoon and the game's first try of the 2nd half through prop Euan Bell, with Dan McElderry again converting.
Despite some good spells of possession, that concluded AGR's scoring for the afternoon, the try bonus point eluding them and resulting in the first match of the season without any league points.
Glen's went on to score a penalty and 2 further tries, 1 of which was a penalty try after AGR had collapsed the maul on their line.

AGR's Iain Macadie presents Allan Glen's David Radford with an AGR shield on what was thought to be the first league meeting between the 2 clubs.
It was established however that the clubs did meet previously, back in season 1978/79 in the old Division 2.....thanks to Nick Chilcott for clarifying. Nick played for Allan Glen's that day and then went on to play for AGSFP after moving to Aberdeen.
