Despite securing a 4-try bonus point, it was a disappointing performance down in Dumfries, conceding 8 tries in a 51-28 defeat.
2 early tries from Dumfries within the first 10 minutes had AGR chasing the game thereafter. Despite getting back to within a point 29-28 midway through the second half, AGR couldn't take advantage of the strong wind at their backs, letting Dumfries back into the game through too many missed tackles.
AGR tries came from captain Craig Shepherd (3) and Scott Byers. All 4 tries were successfully converted by Dan McElderry.
AGR man of the match (voted by Dumfries players) was Steve Rutledge most notably for several strong breaks from the base of the scrum/ruck. This was despite an injury which saw him leave the field in the second half.
