It is with deep regret that we announce the passing of Aberdeen Grammar Rugby stalwart, Roger Bartlett, after a long and debilitating illness.
Born in 1939 in New Zealand, and forever a proud Kiwi, Roger travelled the world in the oil and gas industry before finally settling in Aberdeen in 1977 when he took up a prominent role with oil services provider, Halliburton.
Roger undertook the role of 2nd team manager for two seasons and was a regular attendee at Rubislaw until a couple of years ago when serious health issues began to afflict him. He was a familiar and popular figure in the clubhouse, a great raconteur and a really social and fun person to be in company with.
Our sincere condolences are extended to his wife Heather, son Craig and daughter Kiri.
“Hail fellow well met”, we will miss you Kiwi, rest easy.
